Employment Law
The nation's largest convenience retailer, the state's largest generation and transmission electric cooperative, and a New York stock exchange company involved in real estate development and management throughout the Southeast have one element in common: all have retained our employment law section as counsel in their efforts to comply with the labyrinthian laws regarding employment, labor, and discrimination.
Social services providers, a major textile manufacturer, and clients from the health care, technology, construction, and insurance industries are also among those we have regularly counseled or represented in arbitration, in state or federal court litigation, or before administrative agencies. The areas of work out section covers is too vast to list, but they include employment contracts, discrimination/harassment claims and EEOC, wrongful discharge, wage-hour, personnel policy manuals, drug testing, hiring and termination procedures, and the ADA.
With his extensive jury trial experience in both state and federal courts, the chairman of our employment law section is noted for his courtroom results. As the former head of the employment and litigation sections of the firm of Browder and Russell, he also brings experienced leadership to the section. We will not hesitate to litigate any matter, but our section vigilantly guards against the needless disruption of the client's day-to-day business. Whether we negotiate or litigate depends upon the client's corporate goals.
